Article on Unintentional reflection

Unintentional reflection
Article by Arnut A.

Spatial and surface intricacy exist everywhere in every shopping mall. The atmosphere of each space depends on its intricacy which some has more impact on human sensation while some are not. It could slow down the human movement or change the human visualization.

The bigness is the main character of the mall. The larger the mall is, the more stores it can contain such as entertainment, leisure, different activities, etc. However, the size of the mall can be created by illusion. The reflection generates an illusion that makes what we perceive seems to appear bigger than its usual size by reflexive quality of materials.  This reflective illusion increases the intricacy and complexity of the space, which are sometimes being used to stimulate space in small shopping malls.

Reflection is one of many interesting effects of multiplication in intricacy. It represents the visual of infinite intricacy. The illusion can be dual, triple or more depending on the space. Therefore, there are many possible illusions for different level of intricacy. Once, it might represent complete surface intricacy but another it doesn’t.

In the mall, all shops and restaurant’s design focus on how space would persuade high number of customers to visit them. The reflective materials are placed for only decoration and aesthetics purpose. There is no concern on how reflection would change the atmosphere of space and design. Moreover, reflection is usually not notice by visitor, but it has a lot of impact on human sensation. Therefore, the reflection in the mall occurs from an unintentional needed. What if it has an intension? Would it be incredible multiplication, addition and indirect duplication of surface intricacy?
